PUPIL PLACEMENTS
The Inland Revenue
When our RMS business stream won the 2004 North Lanarkshire Council Gold Award for Work Experience, we saw it as a fitting acknowledgement of the merits of the 'Education in Industry' programme we have been involved with since 1989.We strive to offer young people on work placement a realistic and worthwhile experience of a clerical working environment. The partnership promoted us as an attractive recruiter in the local area, and helped promote our image as a modern, customer focused organisation with a mission to enable a well as regulate. Staff who were involved benefited from improved teamwork, leadership and communication skills as well as the satisfaction that they were contributing to the local community.
Sandra Ewen MBE People Development Manager – Inland Revenue Management Services (RMS)
LOCAL ADOPT A SCHOOL
Petrofac Limited
The relationship between Petrofac and Kincorth Academy in Aberdeen has exceeded all of our expectations. Our experience has been one of mutually shared benefits; a useful exposure to the world of work and enterprise for Kincorth Academy, and a positive engagement in our local community, and with potential future recruits, for Petrofac.
Jim Atak Managing Director – Petrofac Facilities Management Ltd
MULTIPLE SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT
The Royal Bank of Scotland
The Royal Bank of Scotland’s Face 2 Face with Finance (F2F) programme utilises our personal finance expertise to help young people gain the confidence to deal with financial matters. Trained branch staff act as F2F partners, helping teachers deliver financial education, and in turn this builds our employees’ confidence, teamwork and communication skills. We provide teachers with all the materials they need, free of charge.
Jane Mcdonagh Community Investment Manager – The Royal Bank of Scotland Group
BUSINESS ADVISER
Blue Diamond
One of the main benefits as a sole trader is the increase in networking opportunities in the education and business sectors. The enterprise activities provide opportunities to engage with new groups of experts. I love the challenge of channelling the young people’s enthusiasm and off the wall ideas into sound business proposals. There is no doubt that we have the ideas and talent out there.
Walter Smith Director – Blue Diamond
A SCOTLAND-WIDE ROLL-OUT

reputation and provides cost effective staff development, retention and motivation. Materials are adapted for adult learners, special needs young people and socially excluded groups.
Eileen Black Enterprise Liaison Manager – Standard Life
