Corpus Christi Primary School - Celebration Evening (16/11/2009)
Corpus Christi Primary School commemorated its 40th Anniversary with a Celebration Evening on 5th November – inviting guests associated with the school from the past and present, to reminisce and celebrate the contribution the school has made to many peoples’ lives.
Pupils from the Intermediate 2 Creative Cake Production classes at St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, had the pleasure of taking part in a workshop by Evelyn Hogarth, owner of Top Tier Designer Cakes in Hyndland Road. Evelyn’s workshop provided the pupils with a great demonstration of skill and technique as well as many exciting ideas. S5 student, Joni McNaught noted “it was a great honour that Evelyn Hogarth, someone so successful, came to our school”.
With the support of Mhairi Hamilton, Principal of Home Economics and Claire Birney, Home Economics teacher – the pupils were able to successfully create and serve a range of high-end products at the Celebration Evening – which went down a storm!
S5 pupil, Simone McGranahan commented, “The whole experience was fun, it tapped into my interests”. Teacher, Claire Birney “it is fantastic for the young people to learn and use their skills in practice”.
