St Patrick’s Primary School – Young Writers’ Success (16/11/2009)
P4/3 pupils at St Patrick's Primary School submitted pieces for the Young Writers’ My First Acrostic poetry competition, in which they had to write an acrostic poem on a theme that inspired them.
The competition received in excess of 43,000 poems from all over the UK and overseas – work was then selected based on imagination and creativity.
Eight of the children’s poems have been chosen for publication in one of the regional books – My First Acrostic – Little Poets From Scotland (representing the best of Scotland’s entries).
A lasting record of the pupil’s achievements will be held at the British Library as well as further libraries across the UK and Ireland.
Congratulations to Loreta Andrejeva, Dylan Ross Sullivan, Lamisah Ramzan, Sanaa Suvarna, Chloe Rutkiewicz, Caitlin Dornan, Izhan Kazmi and Osama Nasser.
